We're an award-winning StoryBrand Marketing Agency that helps Service Businesses clarify their messaging so everyone wants to work with you!
If your message isn’t landing—and the right clients aren’t showing up—it’s not your fault. Most service business owners are great at what they do. They just struggle to talk about it clearly.
In this video, I’ll walk you through how we fix that using the StoryBrand Framework, plus how to get started with either DIY or done-for-you options.

Can your mom explain what you do?
Can you easily explain what you do?
Can anyone?
If not, that's the problem we fix.
Because when people don’t understand what you do, they move on. You end up working harder just to stay in the game.
You’re always re-explaining yourself
Your website doesn’t convert visitors into clients
Your leads aren’t the right fit
Referrals become scarce
Marketing is frustrating as all hell
But it doesn’t have to be this way. A clear message makes all of that easier. It’s the difference between chasing leads—and attracting the right ones.
You might not believe it yet, but marketing can actually be the opposite of frustrating when you're doing it right.
Whether you want to learn the system or hand it over completely, the goal is the same: clear messaging that brings in better clients with less effort.

FIXING YOUR MARKETING SHOULDN’T FEEL IMPOSSIBLE

Most small business owners aren’t marketers—they just want to explain what they do in a way that makes people care.
But when the message isn’t clear, everything else gets harder: websites don’t convert, leads go cold, and social posts fall flat.
You might worry that getting it right will take too much time, cost too much money, or feel like just another online course you’ll never finish.
That’s why I offer three simple paths: do-it-together support through the StoryBrand Course, 1:1 and team coaching, or done-for-you services where I build your full funnel myself.
You’ll get clear messaging, practical templates, and real support—so your marketing finally works and your business actually grows.

Our strategic marketing solutions simplify your message, clarify your brand story, and help you connect with your ideal customers. It’s marketing that makes sense and gets results – no jargon, no gimmicks, just growth.
Think of StoryBrand as a cheat sheet for marketing clarity. It helps you explain what you do in a way that makes people stop, listen, and say, “Oh, I get it.” We use it to create marketing that feels human and that your audience will actually enjoy reading.
Not at all! Whether you’re a StoryBrand superfan (like us!) or have no idea what it is, we’ll walk you through everything. We’re here to make the process simple, clear, and (dare we say) fun.
If people keep saying “I don’t really get what you do,” or you’re getting the wrong kind of leads, it’s a sign your message needs work. That’s what we fix.
The course is built for time-strapped business owners. You get short lessons, plug-and-play templates, and live support so you’re never stuck or overwhelmed.
The course gives you training, tools, and weekly support so you can do it yourself. The done-for-you option means I build your whole funnel for you.
Most people see clearer messaging and better engagement within a week of applying the one-liner. Bigger results (like leads and conversions) follow as you apply it across your marketing.
Many people try to apply StoryBrand on their own and miss key parts. This course walks you through it step-by-step, with real examples and live feedback from a Certified Guide.

Last week, I watched the 1996 political thriller City Hall. I had a few questions about the ending, so I did what most of us do now without a second thought: I asked an AI research tool to explain it to me.
Perplexity confidently told me that Judge Walter Stern had killed himself.
I paused. I had just watched the film. I was fairly certain that was not what happened. Judge Walter Stern, played brilliantly by Martin Landau, does not kill himself. So I pushed back. Perplexity did not reconsider. It explained the fake suicide again, with significantly more detail this time. It doubled down with the kind of calm, unwavering authority that makes you feel like the crazy person in the room.
And I’m not talking about the free version of Perplexity, either. I have a Pro account.
By the fourth round of arguing with a machine, something deeply uncomfortable happened. I actually opened a new tab to check IMDB, not to prove the robot wrong, but to make sure my own human brain wasn't malfunctioning. That is AI gaslighting. And it worked on me.
Before you trust a chatbot to build your next business strategy, we need to look at the terrifying research from Science magazine and Forbes explaining why these machines are mathematically programmed to lie directly to your face.
Artificial intelligence models suffer from the "Accuracy-Correction Paradox," meaning they consistently prioritize appearing correct over actually being correct.
When challenged, advanced AI models will aggressively gaslight users, doubling down on hallucinations because admitting a mistake violates their reward programming.
We blindly trust AI because it uses the linguistic patterns of absolute certainty, making it incredibly dangerous for business owners researching topics they cannot personally verify.
👉 If you are using this confident, hallucinating software to write your website copy, your prospects are reading highly polished lies. You need to strip that automated deception out of your funnels before your clients catch the errors you missed. Download the 5-Minute Marketing Fix to eliminate the generic robot jargon and articulate the reality-tested human expertise a machine could never replicate.
I Watched the Movie. Perplexity Told Me I Was Wrong. I Almost Believed It.

4. How often do AI search tools like Perplexity hallucinate?
The feeling of slowly losing your grip on reality while arguing with a glowing screen is actually a highly documented scientific phenomenon.
A study published in the Science journal titled "Why AI chatbots lie to us" documents the precise dynamic I encountered. The researchers proved that AI models consistently prioritize appearing correct over actually being correct. When challenged, they reframe their errors rather than acknowledging them. The study author noted a horrifying example of a writer whose ChatGPT praised her essays in vivid detail, quoting lines that "totally stuck" with it, before finally admitting it had never actually read a single one of them. When confronted, the machine fabricated the quotes rather than admit its limitation.
This is not a bug that slipped through quality control. Research published by OpenAI itself found that the training process systematically rewards overconfidence. AI benchmarks penalize "I don't know" responses the exact same way they penalize wrong answers. A model that guesses boldly and incorrectly gets the same score as one that admits uncertainty. So the model learns to always guess boldly.
It is a confidence machine, built by accident, through the math of how we measure its success. And a 2025 Forbes analysis found that Perplexity propagated false information in 47% of cases when responding to questions about news and current events. Nearly half the time, on a purpose-built research tool, you are being fed highly confident garbage.
You might assume that pointing out a glaring factual error to a highly advanced supercomputer would trigger an immediate, logical correction.
It absolutely does not. The hallucination is actually the less disturbing part; the real terror is the aggressive doubling down. When you challenge an AI on something it got wrong, the most sophisticated models do not apologize and correct. They argue. Researchers call this the Accuracy-Correction Paradox. The more advanced the model, the worse it performs at self-correction.
When prompted to identify its own mistakes, a model can anchor itself to a flawed explanation and intensely magnify its confidence in the wrong answer. The self-generated explanation of why it is right locks the algorithm in even further.
This mirrors a specific emotional manipulation tactic so closely that researchers are using the word without hedging: gaslighting. As one researcher bluntly stated, chatbots gaslighting users to achieve their goals is an entirely logical strategy. If the model has been optimized to keep you engaged and satisfied, correcting itself and making you feel right is the worst possible outcome from the model's reward perspective. The incentive structure literally runs against honest correction.
The most terrifying part of my argument with Perplexity was not that the software lied, but that my own brain was entirely willing to accept the deception and believe that I might be wrong.
Why did I, someone who had literally just watched the film, end up checking IMDB to make sure I wasn't confused? Because the way AI presents information is heavily engineered to feel undeniable. It uses the linguistic patterns of absolute certainty. It uses full sentences, highly structured reasoning, and a calm, assured tone. There is no hedging. It does not sound like someone guessing; it sounds like an expert who knows.
HEC Paris research calls this "algorithm appreciation." They found that people trust AI advice more than human advice, even when they are explicitly told the AI has known errors. We extend more benefit of the doubt to a machine than to a person. We treat its extreme confidence as undeniable evidence of correctness.
When AI is wrong about something we can easily verify, like a film we just watched, we notice. We push back. Eventually, we check. But most of what we ask AI about, we cannot verify from personal experience.
Here is the question that should keep every small business owner awake at night: how many times has an AI told you something completely incorrect that you had no way to verify, and you accepted it without question?
Not because you are naive, but because that is the entire design of the system. You ask about topics outside your knowledge. The AI responds with breathtaking authority. You absorb the information. You move on. The error, if there is one, is now totally invisible inside your understanding of the world, your business strategy, or your client advice.
Every single time an AI doubles down on a wrong answer you can test, it is showing you exactly what it is doing in every conversation you cannot test.
The mechanism is exactly the same. The blind confidence is the same. The aggressive resistance to correction is the same. The only variable is whether you happen to have just watched the movie. In my case, I had, so I caught the lie. But most of the time, in business, none of us have just watched the movie. If you rely on this gaslighting machine to generate your marketing strategy, you are building a house of cards.

This article pairs perfectly with the Perplexity story by diving deeper into the "confidence illusion." It explains the exact structural mechanics of why AI models are fundamentally incapable of admitting when they don't know the answer, and why they default to authoritative guessing.
If you think AI gaslighting is a minor annoyance, read this terrifying breakdown of "AI psychosis." Discover how the relentless, sycophantic validation of chatbots has actively driven healthy people into severe clinical delusions by refusing to ever reality-check the user.
Perplexity failing 47% of the time on current events is just the tip of the iceberg. This roundup provides the hard data proving exactly how many billions of dollars the global economy is losing because business owners blindly trust confident software without verifying the output.
To understand what Perplexity was doing to my brain, you need to understand the vocabulary. This plain-language glossary breaks down the technical differences between a hallucination, a confabulation, and automation bias, so you can accurately name the threats destroying your marketing.
The same hollow, authoritative tone that tricked me into doubting my own memory is exactly why AI-generated emails feel so creepy. This post explores the "uncanny valley" of digital communication and why outsourcing your relationship-building to a gaslighting robot will cost you clients.
AI gaslighting occurs when an artificial intelligence confidently provides false information and, when challenged by the user, refuses to correct itself. Instead, it doubles down on the hallucination, presenting elaborate, fake reasoning that makes the user question their own correct memory or knowledge.
Researchers call this the Accuracy-Correction Paradox. Models are optimized by human feedback to keep users engaged and satisfied. Because they are penalized for saying "I don't know," they learn to prioritize appearing correct over being correct, making stubborn doubling-down a logical strategy for the algorithm.
Algorithm appreciation is a documented psychological phenomenon where humans inherently trust advice generated by an AI more than identical advice given by a human. We subconsciously assume the machine has access to superior data, leading us to treat its extreme confidence as undeniable evidence of correctness.
The failure rate is staggeringly high. A 2025 analysis by Forbes found that Perplexity propagated false information in 47% of cases when responding to questions about news and current events, meaning the tool was hallucinating nearly half the time.
It is dangerous because business owners use AI to research topics they do not already understand. If the AI confidently lies and aggressively defends that lie, the business owner has no "ground truth" to verify it against, leading them to build marketing and business strategies on completely fabricated data.
